With heavy influences from the Ashante culture of Ghana and the Afrofuturism movement, Resurgence aims to explore the perseverance and survival of the African Diaspora through the reimagining of a future with people of color as mythical beings and royalty. The collection will use a striking color palette of deep reds and gold, bold prints, and a mixture of free form and structured garments to juxtapose the ideas of the elegance of a deity and the edge of a warrior. Resurgence is an innovative collection that is reflective of the past qualms of the Diaspora, but is an ode to the rebirth and revival of a new generation of creatives, intellectuals, and Afrofuturists.
